“Proud to have premiered this. A pop song with a hook that spells hit, and a dose of Eilish darkness to draw you back.” - Richard Kingsmill, triple j 2020.

“I'm officially ready for 2020 to be the year of Mia Rodriguez. Take this as your signal to update your calendar.” Dave Ruby Howe - triple j unearthed

"...instantly catchy and memorable, and will be one that you’ll want to hit replay over and over again." - Thomas Bleach

17 year-old Mia Rodriguez is part of the new generation of pop stars. She creates quirky dark-pop music that spans the divide between alternative indie and melodic mainstream styles. Based in Sydney, Australia, she is inspired by a blend of all genres of music including K Pop, mainstream pop, and hip-hop, yet the newcomer has arrived at a style that is her very own, led by her distinctive vocals.

Her new single “Psycho” is an unapologetic well crafted dark pop song with fiery lyrics. Co-written by Mia and produced with Dave Hammer (Lime Cordiale, Thundamentals, Jeffe) has elements that put her in the same vein as Billie Eilish or CXLOE, GRAACE, Troye Sivan, Halsey and nails that perfect blend of alternative moody pop music.

As premiered on triple j last Sunday night, “Psycho” follows Mia’s debut single “Emotion” which was released in December last year and has since exceeded over a million combined streams alone. This release gained the attention from the likes of triple j Unearthed and Billboard and industry media tipping her as an artist to watch in 2020.

The video for “Psycho” is a fun take on the single and is visually explosive. It was created by Melbourne’s Josh Harris (Odette, Graace, Gang Of Youths). You can check it out and share here.

Mia is an artist who truly understands her audience better than anyone else. She boasts over 2 million followers on Tik Tok, the new social media platform taking the world by storm. She also has a substantial fanbase across her Instagram (169,000 followers) and YouTube account (84,000) with fans gathering from all over the world. TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are her playground where you’ll find her making fun and addictive content for her fans to watch on the daily.

Mia is the first signing to City Pop Records, a new label launched by concert legendary promoter Michael Chugg and industry mainstay Andrew Stone.

SHEPPARD ‘DON’T BELIEVE IN LOVE’ ON BRAND NEW SINGLE FROM YEAR-LONG PROJECT

Australian pop sensations Sheppard may not believe in love, but the Brisbane-based hit makers are preparing to enter a long-term relationship, with the announcement of a song every month as they unveil a year-long project.

Sheppard 2.jpg

Following on from the success of the bands previous single ‘Die Young’ – which landed late last year and spoke candidly about the band narrowly avoiding a break up – ‘Don’t Believe In Love’ is the first monthly track, seeing Sheppard turn away from introspection and focusing on the all-too-relatable issues of a broken heart.

Landing just two weeks after Valentine’s Day, as the novelty Celebrations chocolates and servo flowers begin to wear off; ‘Don’t Believe in Love’ shines a realistic light on a common problem in relationships all over the world; doubt.

“Don’t Believe in Love is an ‘anti-love song’. We’ve all been in that dark place where we feel like love is not made for us.” Said George Sheppard “When it doesn’t go right, love can hurt us like nothing else can, and this song is about those times where it just feels easier to build up those walls and never let love in rather than risk being hurt again.

The new single ‘Don’t Believe In Love’ is the first of a series of songs and videos, set for release each month leading into the release of the bands brand new album in late 2020.

“Our forthcoming album isn’t necessarily a concept album”, Said George Sheppard “but there’s definitely a cohesive theme running throughout the songs and a linear narrative that I hope people are able to piece together as the year goes on and the album grows. It’s an ambitious goal (releasing every song on the album as a single is no easy task) but it will be a fun challenge for us and give our fans the opportunity to look forward to a new Sheppard track every month!”

Released month by month, and accompanied by music videos, art and content splashed across the bands social channels, the linear narrative embedded within Sheppard’s forthcoming 2020 release will slowly begin to take shape over the coming months.

#1 AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY RADIO ARTIST, CASEY BARNES NEW SINGLE WILL MAKE ‘SPARKS FLY’.

ALSO ANNOUNCING NEW ALBUM, TOWN OF A MILLION DREAMS

Hero Press Shot WEB.jpg

Casey Barnes is making a clear statement of intent today announcing his new single, Sparks Fly,  new album, Town of a Million Dreams (Friday 17 April Chugg Music / MGM) and the Town of a Million Dreams Tour as the Gold Coast based artist lays out his plan to make 2020 the most successful he has ever had.

Sparks Fly is a romantically themed track from the Australian #1 County Radio artist. It follows hot on the heels of a run of hits including the Golden Guitar nominated, “A Little More” which generated over one million streams and peaked at #2 on The Music Network’s radio chart and “No Other You” (featuring Missy Lancaster).  Both “No Other You” and “A Little More” appear on the new album with “Sparks Fly” and 7 other new tracks.

The Town of a Million Dreams Tour will give fans the chance to experience the album played live with the high energy and entertainment levels that Casey and his band have become well known for.

Sparks Fly tells a story that most of us can relate to. A guy finds himself too shy to ask a girl to dance, looks are exchanged, drinks flow and eventually sparks fly. From its intimate and sultry opening vocal through to a chorus that has an almost pop feel about it, Casey Barnes continues to show that he’s capable of delivering genre bending country hits.

‘I was in Nashville on a whirlwind writing trip in 2019 and found myself inspired by the energy of folks at the many watering-holes across the city. ‘I don’t know if it was the music, the people or the whisky…but the result is a song which was one of my favourites to write on that trip.’

These new releases add to the momentum created from a successful 2019 for Barnes.

Signing a management deal with legendary manager and promoter, Michael Chugg helped propel the hard-working singer to career topping targets.

A headline performance at the Professional Bull-Riding World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, was followed by performances at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam and WME’s The Steps.

Lime Cordiale land 4 songs in triple j's Hottest 100 for 2019

AS.jpg

Lime Cordiale who just scored four songs under 40 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2019 and currently boast a total of over 92 million streams, return to the airwaves with another golden, hook-laden single titled Addicted To The Sunshine. The track is lifted off their forthcoming album which is due to be released in 2020 via Chugg Music / London Cowboys. The Sydney band who have been gaining huge momentum and winning over fans all over the world have recently announced they will return to the UK and Europe for a six-week run of headline shows after a tour of 12 dates across North America supporting Tones and I in February and April.

Of the irresistible bop which premiered on the airwaves on the triple j Breakfast show, the bands brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach discuss the important message behind Addicted To The Sunshine. “We’ve already heard people call Addicted to The Sunshine a very “Summery” song (and they’re not wrong) but with the sunshine, comes a little darkness as well. In Australia we love the sun. We love our sunny Summer activities. We love sun-baking, swimming and feeling the need for a selfie in front of a waterfall. The sun is our creator, it’s our life source and we’re addicted to it but we're letting it destroy us. It’s heating the planet and we’re cooking. This song is about getting up off our towels and changing bad habits. We need to consume less, offset our shitty actions and respect the sunshine and environment that we love.”

Directed by their long-time videographer Jack Shepherd, the brothers superbly play two research scientists from Planet B that come to Earth to report back on their findings. They land in Australia to find people having fun in the sun whilst the world starts to burn and deteriorate around them.

As part of their commitment to becoming as carbon neutral as possible across their recording, touring, and other activities, Lime Cordiale have teamed up with renewable energy organisation FEAT to invest in a range of renewable energy solutions. FEAT is the world-first initiative started by Heidi Lenffer of Cloud Control to give artists ownership over accelerating the clean energy future.

In-line with their latest single ‘Addicted to the Sunshine’ Lime Cordiale have teamed up with MadeinHemp to produce an exclusive hemp t-shirt with 100% of the profits going to FEAT.

All four Lime Cordiale songs that were eligible for nomination in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2019 came in under 40 with three in the top 20 in the countdown over the weekend. ‘Robbery’ at #7, ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’ #13, their sexy horn driven homage to The Divinyls’ ‘I Touch Myself’ for triple j’s Like A Version (which has so far received over 2.5 Million streams/views) #17 as well as ‘Money’ #32. Billie Eilish who took out the #1 spot had the most songs in the countdown (five), followed closely by Lime Cordiale and G Flip who tied at four songs each, plus Tones And I, Flume, Thelma Plum, Tame Impala, BENEE, and Ruel (at three songs each).

With one of the most talked about live shows in the country Lime Cordiale played more than 100 shows across the globe in 2019. With sold-out shows in every market, tens of thousands of tickets sold PLUS performing to packed out festival tents, the band toured constantly throughout Australia and New Zealand and somehow found the time to curate another successful festival event in THE SQUEEZE. All that time spent on the road over the last 12 months, the band have still managed to put the final touches to the follow up to their 2017 debut Permanent Vacation.

2020 will see the band return to the world stage having just announced a whopping run of 27 back-to-back headline shows for the UK and Europe throughout May and June which includes an appearance at The Great Escape Festival after playing alongside global phenomenon Tones and I on her huge North American tour.

Released on new Australian independent label City Pop Records it signals the transition for Mia from TikTok creator to recording artist.  That mission is to create the kind of quirky, dark pop that her generation has embraced via artists discovered across socials including, mxmtoon, girl in red, and Olivia O’Brian.

Emotion is produced by Peter Lundgren and Dave Hammer (Lime Cordiale, Thundamentals, Jeffe) and shows off a melodic sensitivity and maturity that the 17-year-old newcomer has been quietly cultivating whilst working on and waiting for her moment.

Mia has posted over 500 videos to TikTok growing her audience of over 2million fans in just over one year. As her audience grew, she started sharing her love of singing by recording cover songs on YouTube for fans who wanted more than her TikTok offered. Mia has since caught the attention of the teams at Chugg Music and City Pop Records who signed her for management and recordings respectively.

Emotion is my debut song, and it’s special to me because its allowed me to take a big leap into the next chapter of my life. The experience of stepping out of my comfort zone, meeting new people, and singing in a studio are all put into this song.  I’m a very shy person but with this experience I’ve learnt to push through, overcome my fears and to fulfil my ambitions.  – Mia Rodriguez

Lime Cordiale | New Track & New Music Video | Waking Up Easy

Chugg Music artist, Lime Cordiale have released their latest track, Waking Up Easy as they prepare to hit the road on their east coast tour. With demand for tickets to shows about to outstrip capacity, Waking Up Easy is the tonic that Lime fans have been calling for.

The slow-summer-jam is a subtle change of direction for Lime's Oli and Louis Leimbach but it's one that is winning them new international fans as well as getting them added to the playlists of swags of existing fans across Australia.

In a recent interview Oli and Louis said, 'Waking Up Easy is about a morning after. We wrote it in a day after a big night in Los Angeles. It’s about waking up to something that feels unexpectedly right.'

Along with the track, Lime Cordiale also revealed a new video which features standout performances from Australian model Emily Jean and actress Petie Sjogren

“We ran into a lot of luck creating this video. It was directed by our long-term mate, Matthew Jenkin. Matt had just finished working with Matilda Brown on her upcoming series. We convinced Matilda’s entire crew to come shoot our video at their wrap party, and started the next week. We had a pro DOP, the best underwater cameraman and a drone operator all helping out because they wanted to support us. Just a bunch of legends.”

The Tambourine Girls | New Track & Album Announce

They've already unleashed two EPs, The End Of TimeSIDES and singles, Police & The Tambourine Girl to a warmly receptive world; now Sydney based The Tambourine Girls announce their debut self-titled full length and release the third single leading into its release, Cupo.

Cupo is a sun-drenched exercise in 70s psych, teeming with reverb and - you guessed it - an actual tambourine. Relf explains its inspiration as stemming from his own imaginings about "what it would be like to be a man my age who had grown up in Iraq". Its warm yet vaguely melancholic sensibility, combined with the happy accident of studio assistant Antonia Gauci's resplendent vocal outro, makes it guitarist Nick Weaver's favourite track on the album.

Debut Album Release Announced. The Tambourine Girls Out November 4 2016

The Tambourine Girls' debut LP puts to bed the notion that if one is a jack of all trades, they're a master of none. Frontman Simon Relf deftly traverses the musical spectrum, paying his dues to float-along folk-rock, riotous come-hither blues, 60s Brit-pop, that disaffected brand of alt-country that's enjoying such a buzzed-about resurgence of late and many more. Flitting between influences but never resting for too long, The Tambourine Girls expertly extracts the sweetest elements of each, blending them in a triumphant metamorphosis to create something entirely new.

The frenetic energy captured on this triumphant debut isn't manufactured - according to Relf, it's real: " The Tambourine Girls wasn’t very rehearsed at all because I wanted to catch the feeling of the band discovering the music. There’s one track on the album which was done in only one take, and it was actually the first time we’d ever played it as a band… It’s exciting to be able to do that, and it’s great that we have an unwritten understanding as a band to deliver under that kind of self-imposed creative pressure."

Achievements to Date & Live

Borne out of a collective impressive musical heritage, The Tambourine Girls began as Relf's solo project. Their 2014 debut EP The End Of Time saw the band find their place on the international stage, with praise rolling in from Europe, the US, and more - ultimately resulting in a run of national tours supporting The Preatures, Dustin Tebbutt, Holy Holy and Megan Washington. 'Police', the first single released from The Tambourine Girls (LP), was met with a fan and critical reaction nothing short of uproarious - at time of sending, it has been played over 350k times on Spotify (and rapidly counting).

With this extensive critical resume, coupled with a reputation for high-energy unforgettable live shows, The Tambourine Girls are poised for what's to come. The release of The Tambourine Girls, and its subsequent launch tour, are sure to cement themselves as one of the most innovative bands in the Australian music canon once and for all.
